We already have that "fish eye" effect, but what if there were other graphical filters? And what if they were synced with the music so they only appear a few seconds along the music?
Examples: - Blurry on the borders (like a zoom) - Inverted colors - The opposite of the fish eye distortion effect (like looking from inside a sphere) - Glitchy effect (just look at Dub Dash's trailer to see what I mean) - Other various Distortion effects - Glow
And so on
Would that be more confusing to the player? If a hard mode is created, would that be a good element to add?

I like the glitch idea best, although it would be hard. In hard mode I think of the camera rotating around the wheel, but it would be a bit disorienting.

Indeed! Camera zooms, or badass points of views can make the game experience even better! Not sure if it's possible but oh well, after all, the Dev team has full control of the engine.
